On George Washington's journey to Boston to assume command of the continental army, he was entertained at the home of Colonel Jeremiah Wadsworth.

The home is long gone and now in its place is the art museum The Wadsworth Atheneum.

The plaque is located on the north side of the museum, on Atheneum Sq N.
