This benchmark is cut into a very old Turnpike guidepost made of granite. The benchmark is 211.1868 metres above sea-level(Newlyn Datum). It was last verified in 1949 and is 0.5 metres above ground level. This benchmark is number 39 on the Tavistock to Liskeard line of the First Geodetic Levelling and dates from 1849. It was originally 692.810 ft above sea at Liverpool.
