Justification for Recommendation:
Options for a western European standard hotel in Vladimir are very limited. As of 2008, the rooms at the Golden Ring are newly renovated to a west European standard and in good condition. Although isolated from many of the tourist attractions in Vladimir it makes a good base as a business hotel. You really need to take a taxi to anywhere interesting. The food in the restaurants is reasonably good although it cannot be charged to the room. Servers do not speak English but the menu has a basic English translation and you can point and use gestures to order. Watch out for servers who want the restaurant bill to be paid in cash. Always pay with a credit card. There is a cash distributor in the lobby which accepts the major debit cards. The lobby staff speaks English.
