"The Lee House and Parsonage are said to be the oldest remaining frame houses in the Pacific Northwest. Both were built as part of a Methodist mission to area American Indians. The Lee House is said to have housed planning for the Provisional Government and the actions of the first judiciary, first post office, and second store. The Parsonage may have served as the Indian Manual Training School while the school was being built. The school eventually became the Oregon Institute and later Willamette University."
