The association of Car Shows with the town of Carlisle began in 1974 when Chip Miller and Bill Miller, Jr. (not related) rented the Carlisle Fairgounds to put on a show - which was a huge success. More shows ensued, with the gradual addition of specialty shows, as time has gone by.
In 1981, the Millers bought the 82-acre fairground and began the transformation of the grounds to tailor it to their needs.
Currently, Carlisle Events hosts 8 specialty shows in addition to the Spring & Fall collector events with the spring show bringing in 130,000 visitors a year
