Last Halloween season, Leona (She-Farkle) and her mom were heading out shopping as I was getting Harvey Jr. ready to go outside. Leona calls the house and says there's a car show going on at the church down the street from our house. So I said to Harvey Jr., "Do you want to take Lightnin' McQueen with us?" And of course he said yes.

So we head along the sidewalk and pull into the church parking lot, and all these gear-heads are totally geeked. Especially when he lets off the accelerator and the hard plastic tires make him power-slide across the asphalt.

So the lady running the show asks if we want to enter the car in the show. She only charged half price, for such a little car. I fill out the paper work and she says, to put it in the dragster class, there's no competition and he'll win a trophy. Ok, cool.

But then when they start handing out the trophies and they call Harvey Jr's name, he winds up with "Best In Class - Sports Car". I'm thinking somebody with a real car is out of a trophy, and I asked if they gave him the right one or not. They said "Yup". And then it dawns on me, these guys have a love for classic cars and are just thrilled to see the next generation learning to appreciate the beauty of these vintage automobiles.

And then, the winner of the costume contest comes toddling over as he's getting his trophy. The only thing missing was the champagne.

So once we were done and head home, Harvey Jr. runs into the house yelling, "Momma momma, I won a trophy! I won a trophy!"

The look she gave me...
Hey, I can't help it if they were overwhelmed by the cuteness factor.

Besides, because of my son, they've now added a class for electric and peddle cars.
