These gates control access to Eggleton Hall. The pedestrian gates at the sides are no longer used. Alongside the gates is a gatekeeper's house. The gates were built around 1816 when the house was enlarged by its owner William Hutchinson. The house and gates were designed in the Greek revival style by the architect, Ignatius Bonomi.
There are four acres of gardens and a nursery. 16th century churchyard with ruined chapel and rare plants, moorland stream, winding paths, and many interesting plants for sale.
