Corps of Discovery II – Clarksville, IN, is located on the grounds of the Interpretive Center at the Falls of the Ohio State Park, about one mile west-northwest of the intersection of Interstate Highway 65 and Court Avenue in Clarksville, Clark County, IN. It is in the NGS database at PID = DH2918: (visit link) . The 12-inch commemorative brass disk is located along the paved entry driveway at the front (east side) of the Interpretive Center, south of and across the driveway from a flagpole, about 45 feet north of the statue of Lewis and Clark, about 12 feet southwest of the edge of the curb along the outer edge of the driveway, and about seven feet east of the north end of the sign identifying the Interpretive Center. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources set the disk in November, 2001, and it was dedicated on October 25, 2003, as part of the “Falls of the Ohio” national signature event. The disk does not have any identifying stamping other than the standard design elements of the commemorative series of disks: CORPS OF DISCOVERY II – 200 YEARS TO THE FUTURE – PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP. To reach from the Interstate 65 Bridge northbound over the Ohio River from Louisville, take Exit 0 at the north end of the bridge to Court Street. Go west on Court Street, passing under the interstate, for 0.15 miles to Illinois Ave. Turn left and go south on Illinois Ave for 0.18 miles to Market Street. Turn right and go west on Market Street for 0.2 miles to Riverside Drive. Turn right and go northwest on Riverside Drive northwest for 0.85 miles to the Interpretive Center and the disk on the left. Recovery first logged on the Geocaching datasheet for station U322, PID = HZ1633.
