[FR] La cathédrale de la Trinité, telle que nous la voyons maintenant, est bien différente de ce qu'elle était à l'origine. Cet édifice n'est point l'œuvre d'un architecte qui en ait conçu et fait exécuter le plan ; c'est un composé de diverses constructions, ajoutées successivement les unes aux autres et portant chacune les caractères de l'époque à laquelle elle fut faite. Il n'est donc pas étonnant qu'elle manque d'ensemble et qu'elle offre des détails appartenant à tous les styles architectoniques du Moyen-âge et de la Renaissance.
La tour centrale date de 1110; la nef (deux travées en ogives naissantes), et le portail méridional de 1180-1185 ; le chœur avec déambulatoire date de la Renaissance. Elle possède des statues de terre cuite sur son portail du XIIIe siècle protégé à l'intérieur par un tambour de 1709.
[EN] The cathedral of the Trinity, as you see it today, is quite different than the original one. No architect designed and carried out the blueprint. Rather it is a composite of different styles of construction, added one after the, other each reflecting the characteristics of the period in which it was done. It is therefore no surprise that it is lacking in uniformity and that it exhibits details belonging to all of the architectural styles of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
The central tower dates from 1110; the nave (formed from two gothic arches), and the souther portal from 1180-1185 ; the choir with ambulatory dates from the Renaissance. It features terracotta statues from the 13th century on its portal protected inside by a tambour from 1709.
