This area is accessible only with high clearance 4x4 vehicles. If you have the equipment to get there, the area provides breath taking views. The trail is apart of a system of old mining trails. Tincup Pass is a trail that crosses the continental divide between the two mining towns of St. Elmo and Tincup. Both are ghost towns but have become favorite destinations for 4 wheelers, hikers, and offroad biking. The camping area along Tincup pass is undeveloped meaning there are no facilities. You pick a spot and setup a tent or a rugged high clearance rv. The trail parallels the North Fork Chalk Creek, which has plenty of brown trout. There are a multitude of Jeep trails of varying difficulty in the area. Bring plenty of supplies the nearest town is Buena Vista which is about 26 miles away. During the summer you may find some supplies in St. Elmo as the tour groups setup shop but I wouldn't count on a large variety.
