Emma Doidge was a 17 year old who was like any other 17 year old nowadays. She lived with her parents and siblings at Cox Tor Farm in Peter Tavy Parish, she had two young men after her, whilst one of the young men was walking her home from church one Sunday the other jumped out of the hedge in a quiet country lane and shot them both, then turned the gun on himself, but he survived and stood trial. There’s a very comprehensive account of events on this website. (
