The Castle Inn has a very pleasant lamp light bar with low, bowed ceilings, open fire and granite walls. The restaurant has lamp-lit beamed ceilings and ancient Saxon fireplace removed from the castle next door.
The Castle Inn was used during the filming of the 1980's version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Hound of the Baskervilles". Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would have approved as he and another local notary, the Reverend Baring Gould were regular visitors to their friend, Mr T.H. Radford, who gave the gorge to The National Trust in 1943.
