The Denison family appears to have been a prominent one in the town of Mystic. Their land has become a 250-acre nature center and the family home has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The family cemetery however, is unmarked, abandoned, and alone in the woods. Most of the markers are so badly worn that they are illegible, and many others are knocked over and broken. Denison is the most common name on the graves, but there are several with the name of Smith too. There is a website for the family home: (
