In the depths of the Woodland Trust's Swineshead Wood stands this magnificent tree. It is very unusual to see an Ash of this age still alive. Despite some disease at the base, the tree is just about coming into to leaf now (Spring 2008). There are a few suckers from the base of the tree which perhaps will, in time, replace the older trunk. It stands tall amongst the other younger trees providing a canopy of green in the summer months.
