Known locally as the "Three Faced Liar" the original clock was installed for Jubilee Day, June 22nd 1897 and was replaced in 1965 after a lorry demolished the original in 1964. The new clock was re-sited in 1972 and has since been replaced in 2012 by a new four-sited clock resembling the original.
