People donated towards the creation of a laid out garden created from the wasteland by sponsoring an engraved Lakeland slate pavior which is set in the path of the garden. Each is engraved with names together with a town or place. Wordsworth Daffodil Garden is a haven of peace and tranquillity nestled between the churchyard and the river Rothay and overlooked by the poet laureate's grave. Through a specially initiated Registered Charity the garden was created in 2003 as a community project and is being continually improved. The sponsorship scheme has already raised over £100,000 for local causes and funds have been reserved for the professional maintenance of the garden for its long term future.
Come and enjoy the spirituality of the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden. It forms a centrepiece to one of England's most renowned villages where locals and visitors can wander, or sit and contemplate.
