This milestone is along the road from Callington to Tavistock. This road was the main road from Callington in Cornwall to Tavistock in Devon. When the new route to Tavistock via Gunnislake and over the River Tamar at Newbridge was opened in the late 18th century the Horsebridge road became a backwater as it is today. Sadly this milestone is a bit faint after several centuries of attack by the weather.
