The ranger station is set in the middle of the welcome area of this incredible beautiful park.. I found the park ranger to be very helpful and knowledgeable. He even took a few pictures of my son & I in front of the famous rock outcropping.

This 230+ acre oasis of woods and meadows, in the suburbs of eastern Abington Township, attracts visitors to its natural beauty year-round. A bequest from the late George Horace Lorimer (former Editor-

in-Chief of The Saturday Evening Post), Lorimer Park is a haven for wildlife under a canopy of huge trees. Activities include hiking, picnicking, bird and animal watching, horseback riding (with your own horse), and, in the winter, sledding and cross-country skiing. For the angler, Pennypack Creek is stocked, in-season, with trout by the PA Fish & Boat Commission. Overlooking the creek is majestic Council Rock where, legend says, Native Americans use to meet to plan their activities. It now serves as a beautiful and popular backdrop for wedding photographs. Open daily 8 am to sunset.

The park has many amenities. There is a huge gazebo and inside structure which we used for a geocaching event. There are really nice restrooms, water fountains picnic tables, barbecue pits, maps, literature and many geocaches! Parking is across the street but they do not mind if you drive down tot he circle to drop off items for an event so long as you park in the designated area. it is about a .15 walk to the ranger station from the lot.

Off Road Directions:
The ranger station is located in the main area of the park across the street from the parking lot. It sits right in front of the picnic area.
