New Zealand's premier hot air ballooning event! This Hot Air Balloon Festival takes place in Hamilton City, Waikato, every year around April.

The Festival began at 6.30am, 9th April, with a visual feast of 30 - 35 balloons inflating and flying out from Innes Common.
Various events and competitions were planned for each day at Innes Common beside the Lake, with the popular Night Glow, attracting 80,000 taking place on Saturday night at the University of Waikato.
Through the generosity of the principal sponsors WEL Energy Trust and The University of Waikato, and the many others featured here, the Balloons over Waikato Charitable Trust is able to provide this fabulous community event, to which admission is free.
