This is a dam that sits on the southern end of Lake Okatibbee. The lake is very large and has 28 miles of shoreline. This dam holds back the waters from entering Collinsville and Meridian which is a few miles away and is part of the Tom Bigbee waterway system. There are several ramps and parks around the lake and it is a large recreational area today maintained by the Army Core of Engineers.
