Bench mark and rivet cut into the wall of Bridge 71 which crosses the Leeds Liverpool Canal at Heath Charnock Lancs. The bench mark is at the centre of the bridge on the north side.

This benchmark is 95.5792 metres above sea-level(Newlyn Datum). It was last verified in 1963 and was originally 0.5 metres above ground level.
This bench mark was used during the First primary levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 313.8140 feet [95.6505 metres] above mean sea level (Liverpool datum). The surveyor's description was Bolt in Rawlinson's Bridge ; 2.35 ft. below parapet wall.
