This is one of the water wheels at the Finch Foundry. The foundry is a tourist attraction now, own by the National Trust.
A 19th century water powered forge, rather than the normal mill. It produced mining and agricultural tools for the surrounding community. Today there are three water wheels driving large tilt hammers and grindstones. They are in working order and the National Trust have regular demonstrations.
