This is the home of the Borealis Theatre and the world famous Pig Races! My cousins' uncle, who grew up in Palmer (he's now 80-something), showed us the Wineck Barn that his dad donated to the fairgrounds many years ago.

Spring is in the air at the Alaska State Fair, where organizers are already hard at work planning the fourth annual Alaska Garden and Art Festival. This year’s festival, sponsored by Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union, takes place at the fairgrounds on Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person; youth ages 12 and under are free.
The Alaska State Fair is a private, 501(c) (3) corporation.

Provide proof of your visit - a photo of you at the location, a photo of
one of the exhibits or contest entries, or even both. Get creative! If
you are logging at an event other than the main fair, include in your
log the type of event you attended at the fairgrounds. You must attend
