This castle was built in 1888 by the Campbell family. It was a private residence for nearly all its life. When I was growing up it was called the Crumb castle and a lucky few were allowed to tour it. In 1994 in a state of very bad repair the Lowry's stepped in to save it as a home but the reality of renovations soon turned it into a B&B. The best of this is now anyone can stay in this historic landmark. There is a lot more information at the web site.
