St.Oswalds churchyard cemetery is often thronged with visitors,mainly to view the graves of William Wordsworth and family members.
In the churchyard are eight yews planted by William Wordsworth,one of which marks the grave of him,his wife Mary,nearby are buried his sister Dorothy,his children Dora,William,Thomas,and Cathrine,Mary's sister sara Hutchinson,there is also the grave of Hartely Coleridge,the eldest son of Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
