This is an early 14th Century Church,in the Village of Great Bircham with a section for CWGC Graves .

During the Second world war the south east corner of this church yard was used for the Graves of those who fell in the war mainly Pilots and navigators, there are 66 air force gravestones including those from Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, Who flew from the nearby Airfield, There is also 1 WAAF headstone and in the far corner stand the graves of 11 german pilots, who were found on the shores.

This was also the First Grave yard to have a Cross of Sacrifice , unveiled by King George on the 14th July 1946.
