This 30-room Queen Anne house was originally built in 1884 by Rufus Rand Sr., owner of the Minneapolis Gas Light Company, as a wedding present to his bride Susan Mealey.
Located in Monticello's historic district, on a prominent hill overlooking the city, the house and grounds have since undergone total renovation, and have been featured frequently in local and national magazines, newspapers and guides.
Open all year, the location is a quiet winter retreat in the snow, and in the summer, it offers extensive grounds, gardens, fountains, pool, and woodland walking paths.
