The playground is very good and includes some high slides and rope bridges. The entrance sign says the max age is 15 and min age is 7 for the higher elements.
There is an area for small ones, including a 'model' lake ferry. Picnic tables are on hand for the pauses. The rest of the grounds are worth visiting, with a lake shore walk down to the jetty, plus the formal gardens by the big house. Great views across the lake to the hills. Some sculpture and art in the grounds.
Gardens, adventure playground and grounds open all year from dawn to 6pm. Exhibition, cafe and shop open daily March - November: 10am - 5pm
Entry is free, P&D car parking @ c£1/hour (min £2.20), regular buses stop at entrance, or catch a ferry from Ambleside to jetty in the grounds.
