Monmouth University, founded in 1933, is a coeducational university offering 29 degree majors through seven schools within the University. The schools are: the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences; the School of Education; the School of Business Administration; the School of Science, Technology and Engineering; the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies; the Graduate School; and the Honors School.
The 156 acre campus has it's own history. Two of the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Woodrow Wilson Hall was built in 1929, originally as the home of Hubert Templeton Parson, president of F.W. Woolworth Co. The original mansion on this site, Shadow Lawn, was built in 1903 for John A. McCall, former president of the New York Life Insurance Co., but was destroyed by fire in 1927. In 1916, the current owner, Joseph B. Greenhut, the head of Siegel, Cooper Co., loaned the mansion to President Woodrow Wilson during the campaign of 1916 as the presidential summer home. You may recognize some of this building if you've ever seen the movie version of "Annie", where Wilson Hall was the home of Daddy Warbucks.
In 1978, the University's Guggenheim Memorial Library and Wilson Hall were entered in the National Register of Historic Places.
