This trap is situated east side of Gutter Tor Gert at the junction of old walls. You can clearly see the remains of the walls which
were used to funnel the vermin into the trap.
These traps were used to catch weasels and stoats which were the main predators of the rabbit, they were caught in traps which funneled them into a small granite tunnel (usually 1m x 0.5m), and then secured them there with slate shutters, triggered to drop when the animal entered the trap.
