The headwaters of Bowman Creek are at this trickle of a spring (likely about a 7th or 8th magnitude), located out in the woods, NW of the small town of Goldendale at the ruins of what appears to have been a small farm. The spring house would have been to prevent the grazing cattle from dirtying the water at the head of the creek, next to the cabin. The area is still used to graze cattle so watch for them as you drive up. To reach the area, go to N45 56.502 W120 54.958. You'll see an
old historical marker telling of a
murder that happened at the site of the spring house. Follow the dirt road next to the marker for about 4 miles. The spring house is in front of the old cabin. Four wheel drive is recommended but it is possible in 2WD.
