The Prosser Mine was part of an extensive industrial complex in what is now one of the wealthiest suburbs of Portland, Oregon. This drift mine was used to extract iron ore and ship it by narrow gauge railroad to an iron furnace, still standing in George Rogers Park (see WM1C67). The mine is located in Iron Mountain Park. The entrance has been sealed with concrete. Access to the park is via the Iron Mountain Trail, which is the roadbed of the original iron ore railway. The mine is located near the top of a steep hill, and getting to it is very challenging.
