Fort Morris served to protect the seaport of Sunbury in Georgia during the Revolutionary War. It is in the Fort Morris State Park at 2559 Fort Morris Road in Midway, GA.

From Georgia: A Guide to Its Towns and Countryside pg.159:
"Here are the remains of Fort Morris, built for defense in 1776, now overgrown with wild myrtle and cedar trees. The Continental troops who garrisoned the fort offered spirited resistance to British attacks, but Sunbury was virtually destroyed."

Current situation:

The remains of the fort are now part of a state park.
