This ferris wheel, erected in 1991, is modeled after the very first ferris wheel that was built for the Chicago 1893 Exposition. It is 150 feet tall with 40 gondolas, each seating up to 6 passengers.

Although it has a similar look to the original wheel, it is much smaller than its 1893 ancester which stood 250 feet tall and carried 36 cars holding up to 60 people each.

It is open year round on the Navy Pier along with other rides, shops, and boat tours. The cost to ride is $6 for 1 ride, $9 for two rides, $10 for 3 rides and $11 for 4 rides.
