This building is now a private residence in the heart of Riverside. Post Street used to be THE main street in the area. Times have changed and it has become a regular neighborhood street.

This old gas station was taken over by a local woman and turned into an Antique Shop back in the early 1970's. When her health began failing her eldest son took over running the shop as an antique store until the late 1970's. At this time he turned it into a floral shop known as the Purple Petunia, hence the brilliant color of this building. Upon his death in 1994 the family continued to run the business until the end of 1995. It was bought twice more in the following years. The present owner was the last florist to own the shop.
We were unable to discover any history prior to the original Antique Shop.
