Harter Fell when seen from many places in the South of the lakedistrict looks pyramid in shape the lower half being cloaked in conifer trees but the top is very different and rocky, with a slight scramble required to reach the true summit, the Trigpoint however does not stand on the highest point but a hundred yards or so to the South on an equally as rocky platform, with a great viewpoint in all directions, the Scafells are particularly prominent to the North.
