While visiting the Cleopatra's Needle behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, I saw this glass pyramid behind the center of the Met building. The structure is pretty large... similar in volume to the structure in front of the Louvre, but clearly not intended to have the same effect. Since the pyramid is roughly aligned with the obelisk, I thought there might be something thematic... but I am probably imagining things.
Upon doing some research I discovered that this structure is the atrium room of The Robert Lehman Collection. It is a very beautiful open atrium space with an interesting collection of art spanning many centuries.
