This cemetery was established long before Transcona became part of the City of Winnipeg. This first interment was in 1914. To date, there has been about 5000.

It's operated by The City of Winnipeg and because this cemetery is inside Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway, many think it is in Winnipeg City. It is actually in the Rural Municipality of Springfield.
