The sundial is of simple construction the base being made of limestone as is the column,on top of the square base is a round collar again made of limestone, the collar has the date 1886 inscribed into it,the column which stands on the base is new and replaces the original which was stolen in 1997,the new column is dated 1998,the dates and the words "Stolen and replaced are inscribed into the stonework of the column, which in my opinion detracts from the appearance of the sundial, but somebody must have thought it was required.
Sundial Type: Horizontal - Flat base, Ground or Pedestal mounted dial plate
