Top Withens is the name of the cottage just to the east of Four Lane Ends. It is just off the small road that runs up the east side of the Lune valley, between Sedbergh and Tebay. A bridleway runs past the house and over the Howgill Fells. The hills provide fine walking.

The vane looks quite old and could do with a coat of paint. Great expression in the dog, "come on, let's go!".
