Kirby's Mill was declared a State Historic Site in July of 1971, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Sites in September of 1972. The Medford Historical Society has finished some restoration to the complex others are not yet in working order. They hope to enable future generations to wander back into the past and see a part of early Americana.

The Mill holds an Apple Festival every year on the second Sat. of October. (free admission) The museum inside is quite interesting and free ; unfortunately it is only open on Sundays 10-4 during the summer months, but the grounds are open year round http://www.medfordnj.com/history/kirbys.html
