Arnside is a small village on the edge of the Kent Estuary at the head of Morecambe Bay. The promenade includes a selection of small shops and the village gets a surprising number of visitors to enjoy the view across the bay to the hills of the Lake District.

At the summit of the prom stands this clock. Perched atop a stone column is this old clock. The copper casing has gone green and the white hands stand out. They do continue in their circular course, but not very accurately, and it is still set to BST.

At the rear of the bay in which the clock stands, is a plaque recording the dedication to the Rev. J.M. and Mrs Blandford and their daughters, of Oakfield 1895-1935.
