The Live Oak Cemetery has several hundred graves, many of which are not marked. The most famous person with their final resting place in the cemetery is Holt Collier. Collier was born a slave and fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War. He became a renowned bear hunter and led President Roosevelt on bear hunts, including the hunt which resulted in the "Teddy Bear"
