Benchmark on Milestone on Hingston Down A390 - U.K. and Ireland Trigpoints on Waymarking.com

This benchmark has been cut into the front of this milestone which is two miles from Callington. The milestone would have been placed alongside the Callington to Tavistock turnpike road in the mid 18th century. This benchmark is number 38 on the Tavistock to Liskeard line of the First Geodetic Levelling and dates from 1849. It was originally 699.038 ft above sea level at Liverpool.
