[FR] La famille beauvaisienne des Leprince, au XVIe s., orna les deux façades du transept de roses, et leur chef de file, Engrand Leprince, a laissé une grande verrière. Beaucoup d'anciens vitraux ont disparu, à cause des bombes de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale.
[EN] The most beautiful of the windows are from the hand of the Renaissance artist, Engrand Le Prince, a native of Beauvais.
The transept features most of the 16C compositions. The south rose window, the work of Nicolas Leprince (1551), is dedicated to the Creation, with the Eternal Father occupying the central medaillion. Opposite, in the north transept, there are ten Sibyls counterbalancing the Prophets (1537). The radiating chapels which were devastated in 1940 and are currently undergoing restoration have had their windows replaced by contemporary glass masters. The apsidal chapel still retians three 13C windows: the life of an unidentified saint, the Tree of Jesse and the Childhood of Christ, and scenes from the religious drama by Rutebeuf, the Miracle of Theophilus.
