Just off the A5, near Milton Keynes, this pretty restaurant offers open fires in the bar area during winter and conservatory dining during the sunny summer months.
Local produce features heavily on the seasonal menu where you might find starters of caramelised queen scallops with slow roasted tomato tart and mains of cod with chorizo and white bean and clam broth.
The food is refreshingly inventive and the wine list brief but well-rounded.

Apparently this has just changed hands and haven't been there since new owners have taken over.
