There are very few paved slipways giving access to Coniston Water. This is the only commercial one. Coniston Sailing Club have another slipway for members yachts. The lake has a 10 mph speed limit on it. For one week in late October or early November, this limit is waved for Coniston Power Boat Records Week, when boats are timed over a flying kilometre.
