Located near Livermore City Hall, is a time capsule buried Jan. 2000 and is planned to be dug up in Dec. 2099. At the moment, the plaque is in good shape, but knowing Livermore's record of keeping time capsules, I doubt that it will pass the test of time.
The container should stay intact. It was given to the city by Sandia Lab and was made to hold radioactive material.
The capsule was placed by the Livermore centennial committee.
The plaque reads:
"Citizens of Livermore
buried this Millennium
Time Capsule
January 14, 2000
to be opened
in December 2099"
