I've not been able to find out much about this school unfortunately. It looks to be a classic Victorian school building, complete with separate entrances for girls and boys. Long sandstone windows let in the light to the scholars.
Across the road is an old infants school with 1864 on it. It was also used as a lecture hall.
Both schools are now closed. A new primary school is in the village and secondary education takes place in nearby Carnforth.
