The tramway ran from the 1880s to the 1920s and this plaque commemorates the use of this building as the waiting room and offices. Originally the trams were pulled by horses and then powered by steam. It was the last steam operated tram in the UK in 1925 and closed due to financial difficulty after struggling with money for some time. The tram can be seen in the Milton Keynes Museum at the other end of the tramway in Wolverton.
